Sensory Motor Performance Program
 Biodynamics Lab

In the Biodynamics Lab, we study sports-related injuries and neurological impairment and develop new rehabilitation approaches for clinical problems. In collaboration with physiatrists, orthopaedic surgeons and therapists, we study injury and compensation mechanisms of pathological knee conditions, quantify reflex/non-reflex and dynamic/static factors contributing to spasticity in neurological impairment, determine in vivo load sharing and co-contraction among individual muscles, and develop rehabilitation devices and protocols for the injuries and impairment.

The Biodynamics Lab is directed by Dr. Li-Qun Zhang. Lab staff includes postdoctoral fellows Hyung-Soon Park, PhD, Chulhyun Ahn, MD, Fan Gao, PhD, Yupeng Ren, graduate students David Fung, Nicole Wilson. Collaborating physicians include Drs. Elliot Roth, MD, Zev Rymer, MD, PhD, Jason Koh, MD, Ronald Hendrix, MD, Matthew Hepler, MD, Debbie Gaebler-Spira, MD, Sun Chung, MD,PhD, Gordon Nuber, MD, Joel Press, MD, James Sliwa, DO, Steven Levin, MD, Takashi Nishida, MD, Robert Sufit, MD, and Thomas Grant, DO.
